I'm so proud of this doll!

This is Amelia. I spent so many hours on this doll. I have her listed on eBay right now.

Here's the link if you'd like to see the listing.

What an interesting process it was to make her. She is so completely different than what I usually make. I had to actually draw and cut the body from kind of a profile point of view. Then, once she was stuffed I had to do some needle sculpting to make her lips pouty, her little cute-as-can-be cleft chin, and that slim, beautiful nose. I can't remember putting this much careful effort into any doll's clothes before. Every hem is finished, no raw edges. Many of them I stitched by hand for embellishment. I even put a tiny bag of rice inside to weight her little bottom down.

The painting was really intensive. So many coats of paint, so much sanding! That little Robin was quite an adventure to make too. I tried to blend realism and whimsy, but I think the realism sort of won out!

Thanks for looking at my little Amelia. Have a lovely day!

Primitive Doll Giveaway

Photobucket

Hello everyone! I've decided to join in the fun and offer up one of my Extreme Primitive Doll Cuties for Giveaway! Her name is Faith and she is so sweet! I'm a 14 year Breast Cancer Survivor and Faith is a tribute to all who are survivors of that hideous disease, or anyone who is fighting it right now. Her little Ornie she's holding says, "Hope". I still hope and pray for a cure.

Let's see... Faith is made of Osnaburg, and she's wearing a little pink jumper that's velour w/ tiny embroidered bows all over it. Her blouse is pink gingham check and has gathered short sleeves. Her hair is brown yarn, tied up on top w/ a pink strip of gingham. She has pinch-stitched features, wired arms, and a lovely disposition.

All you have to do to enter the Giveaway is to GO TO THE GTPF blog site (scroll down to next post...I have the link there), enter the Giveaway there by commenting, then come back and post a comment on this post. If you've already entered the GTPF Giveaway, just comment here to enter. If you do not have a blog that would give me someway to contact you if you're the winner, then be sure to either type in an email addy or email me at misspootsies@hotmail.com and give me your addy, otherwise I won't have any way to contact you!

***Please Note***
I can't afford the shipping for international entries, so please don't enter if you're not living in the Continental USA. No offense, I'm just poor...LOL.

The Giveaway will end on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Midnight Central Standard Time. On Friday, the 30th I'll have my granddaughter draw a name out of a bowl & pick the winner. Again, be sure I have some way to contact you.

Good luck, and God Bless,
Penny

Lottie, Americana Angel & Uncle Sam

Hello everyone! Hope you've had a lovely week and weekend. Mine has been an extremely busy one. All day Saturday was non-stop graduation ceremonys and parties. I listed four dolls today and still have 8 auctions active.
One of the wonderful eBay Community Groups that I am a member of, GTPF, or Good Tidings Primitives & Folkart, is going to be having a FANTASTIC GIVEAWAY. It's actually a kit (or grouping of everything you would need) to make a darling, country primitive apron. If you go to the Group's Blog, you can find out how to enter.
My Lottie, the Americana Angel is listed right now on eBay. Here's the link to the auction.

She is my original creation and will not be duplicated. Lottie is made from osnaburg. I painted her face, neck, and bodice, oh... and her sleeves. She has a skirt, and wings made from a great prim patriotic stripe homespun with stars. I gave her beautiful, needle felted wool hair, and a crown made from cardstock & dark blue w/ white stars fabric. Lottie is holding (rusty pinned) an Uncle Sam doll. He's so cute! He's made from osnaburg that I quilted w/ batting, and painted. He has white, curly wool hair, beard, & moustache. In her other hand she holds a Star Ornie made from that patriotic homespun and is rag-stuffed. She's very unique and very grubby with coffee, vanilla & cinnamon.
Thanks so much for looking today. God Bless you and keep you.

Poor Lil' Ellifonts!!!

What's wrong with these two little Primitive 'Ellifonts'??? I listed them twice already on eBay and not so much as a nibble. Hmmmm... They are so cute in person. Maybe I need to take better photos? Maybe I should try selling them as a set?
You all tell me what I should do.... wouldja?
Thanks & God bless you all,
Penny
